Storming the Tropics...
September, 2004... Ugh... Painful day, but at least I'm in town for one more day, and I get to play some soccer at lunch tomorrow. RESULT!!! :o) WOO-HOO!!! Anyways, the trip... I almost had to be up at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning, now it's only stupid o'clock on Wednesday morning.
Not too bad, and looking forward to the trip. Flying into Mexico City is pretty amazing. As you approach the city from the air, the one thing that truly flabber-ghasted me was the volcano. I've never seen such a HUGE mountain/crevice in my life. It was pretty eery looking also, what with all the smog/fog filling in the valleys around the volcano and city. The landing reminded me a great deal of the approach to Heathrow. After about 5000 ft from the ground, you pass through this rolling cloud/fog bank like clockwork. I can only remember a couple of occassions where we didn't pass through that grey "ether" that London is so famous for on our approach into Heathrow.
Get to do a couple of weekends in D.F., so going to find something to do in the neighbourhood while still "playing safe", cause I really don't blend in too well as with most other places I've travelled. So a trip to the mall to find a couple more local jerseys and tempted to make a run out to the jungles or the volcano on the following weekend. Otherwise, maybe the Museum of Native Art & History?... I forget where exactly Marx's tomb is, but I think that was in Mexico City somewhere... Darn, should have been doing my research earlier! /o: Oh well, should be able to find something afterwork tomorrow, maybe.
OOOH!!! WOW!!! Going to have to make time for these! ::giggles like a school boy::
